Category: Zone BBS Suggestions and Feedback
hi everyone,
i have to come up with a totally new real idea for ignoring users.
we all know we can ignore qn's and person watch board posts, voice mails end but last but not least: private mail.
what about to ignore skipe, twitter, and zone bbs by phone users,
this are three new inprovements for the ignoring page.
do'nt hesitate to post if you are agray or disagray.
n.b
each option can checkect with checkboxes.
if the staff agrays with this, there we come with 6 ignore options.
here i explain how it works.
checking the skipe checkbox will marking the option to ignore.
klicking the ignore button will prevent users to contact skipe users when thy are log in to the site.
the other two options works as the same i just explained.
please let me know what you think.
spreath the word!!!!!!!!
Interesting ideas, but the word is spelled a, g, r, e, e. as well as disagree. If you want to really be taken seriously, please be sure to run a spellcheck on your posts.
I agree with Tunehead. Learn how to write.
As to your suggestions, if you ignore a user via all the options that are currently available, there's really not a way I can think of that someone can contact you through the site. I'm not exactly sure what you mean about ignoring Twitter and Skype users. If you don't wish someone to have your info, don't give it to them, or make it public information in your profile. If you've already given it to someone, or if they contact you via those means and you don't want them to, simply ignore them by using the block feature in Twitter and Skype. That's what it's there for. The Zone isn't responsible for someone contacting you off the site. I'm also confused about what you mean by ignoring ZBP users. Aside from voice-mail, what do you wish to ignore? I don't know that there would be a way to keep a user out of a conference you were already in, for example.
Just my thoughts. CL's and/or admins, let me know if I'm wrong on any of this.
Indeed, don't give out the info. Also, even though this is not an english class, it would benifit you to read over your posts prior to submission.
Agreed with everyone else here. Actually, I believe if you click on someone's skype username as listed in their profile, you can connect directly if both of you happen to be signed in at the same time. however, A. this is probably not going to be the case if you haven't communicated with them first, and, B. this can be easily avoided by going into your skype settings and making sure it's set to only allow people in your contact list to contact you. Problem solved. As for ZBP/TeamTalk, I agree with Alicia. If you're that determined not to talk to a user, leave the conference or channel when they come in. I really can't see how it's possible to block their voice in a public conference. Not to mention, it's already against the T.O.S. to harass a user who has put you on ignore once they have explicitly asked for the behavior to stop, so if an ignored user won't leave you alone, I.E. You leave a conference and they follow you into another one, I believe that user can be banned after a certain point anyway.
i don't really see the need for this feature.
nice idea though.. but as the others said, we have enough ignore settings as it is
of course there's links on the homepage, users with twitter and users with skype which is a place where you could still get the information.
but the easy anser is, don't add them.
Exactly. that would be like requesting that ignored users don't show up in the login list. that's just going too far, in my opinion. if you can't even handle seeing their username, what are you doing here? Lol.
Last time I checked, the word disagree was spelled d i s a g r e e, not disagray.
oh, sorry for the bat spelling.
here is the correct word:
agree.
disagree
bad is b, a, d. lol
not bat spelling, bad
lol
Hi.
I don't believe there is a way to further ignore users on ZBP, such as muting them in conferences and such. Also, the ZoneBBS has no control over external sites such as Twitter, Facebook, nor external programs such as Skype. These settings would have to be controlled by those programs.
agree with everyone else.
It's simple really - if you don't want people contacting you via skype/twitter/msn etc don't put your details in your profile.
I have all of the above but only my twitter username is in my profile since I'm less picky about who follows me on there. The rest is only available by invitation, so to speak.
